Disarmament for Sustainable Development
"The Millennium Development Goals cannot be realized while the world squanders its wealth on militarism."
About 40 of our Laureates and Board members signed an appeal demanding governments to agree on a global plan for disarmament at the upcoming Rio+20 conference. Cutting military spending would free up funds that could be used for social, economic and ecological programs instead.

"Land grabbing" - What is it, why is it happening, and what are the effects?
On June 14, there will be both a seminar at the Swedish Parliament and an open meeting in Stockholm discussing these questions.
During the seminar, a new report on land grabbing will be presented by LUCSUS, the Right Livelihood College Campus in Lund. (It will be available on our homepage afterwards.)
Information about our events and links to relevant websites and reports on land grabbing are collected on our homepage. |
